Questions
How much does it cost?
Cataloguing, marking gaps, getting alerts, getting in touch and chatting is free, with no limit on copies. There is a paid plan for those who want the total value of their collection, statistics and extended use of the assistant. What makes ComicSwap worthwhile stays in the free plan.
Is it available in English?
These pages are. The web app is in Spanish for now, and the English version is on its way. Meanwhile, if you get stuck, write to us and we will help.
Can I use it outside Spain?
Yes, ComicSwap works anywhere. Keep in mind that deals, payments and shipping are arranged between the two of you: we do not handle shipments between countries.
Can I use it now, without the app?
Yes. Create your account on the website and, from your browser, you can keep your collection, note down what you are looking for, see what others offer and talk to them. It works on computers and phones, iPhone included.
Does my web account work in the app?
Yes, it is the same account. When the app comes out, you log in with your email and password and find everything you have saved on the website.
What if nobody has what I am looking for?
That is normal at the start, which is why ComicSwap works with alerts, not searches. You note down what you are missing once and forget about it. The day someone adds it, we let you know, whether that is next week or a year from now.
Does it recognise American comics?
Yes, although less reliably than European ones. American single issues, especially older ones, often have no standard identifier and are not in bibliographic databases. You can always add them by hand, and that record becomes available to everyone else.
How is the value of a copy calculated?
Based on the specific edition and the condition you declare. It is a rough estimate to give you an idea, not a professional appraisal or a promise that it will go up in value.
Do I have to show my whole collection?
No. You decide which copies you make available. The rest of your collection is yours and nobody else sees it.
